Sue began fluting at age 11 and was the
school piccolo soloist
through public schools. She was asked to teach flute at age 15
for beginner flutists and
got sidetracked 7 years later with
motherhood. She sang in vocal jazz groups for many years
and taught
chorus for developmentally disabled for
17 years, focusing on song lyrics that lift the spirit.
Sue has used her musical talent over the
past 33 years mostly
in healing, more than entertaining. She once played for a
6-year-old child dying
of cancer, at her last birthday party,
and enjoyed providing some calm in the midst of such a
sacred atmosphere. She
has played a lot for children, for the
elderly and for everything in between. Each venue inspires
different
qualities in playing; Sue truly draws from the situation
and gives back in her fluting.
Sue enjoys playing both classical and emotional
improvisational
style music, that can touch a soul in pain and bring it up a
notch, or simply provide comfort and enjoyment.
In "Tulips", we enjoy playing, entertaining and creating an atmosphere
that will enhance any atmosphere.
